Accessibility Plan

Schools in the UK have a Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) under the Equality Act 2010, requiring them to have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity, and foster good relations for people with any of the nine protected characteristics. They must also make reasonable adjustments to support disabled students and students with other characteristics, which includes ensuring they can access and participate in all school activities.

Our accessibility plan sets out how we aim to:

  • Increase the extent to which pupils with disabilities can participate in the curriculum
  • Improve our physical environment to enable pupils with disabilities to take better advantage of the education, benefits, facilities and services provided
  • Improve the availability of accessible information to pupils with disabilities
